Terms and Conditions of Service

Welcome to Utkal Rides, the premier self-drive car rental agency in Bhubaneswar. By booking and renting a vehicle from us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms, conditions, and operational policies. Please read these terms carefully before confirming your booking.

1. Driver Eligibility & Age Limit

• The renter/driver must be at least 21 years of age at the time of booking.
• The renter must possess a valid, original Indian Driving License (DL) for Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) for at least 1 year. Learners' licenses or photocopies are strictly not accepted.
• International guests must provide a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) along with their original home-country license and passport.

2. Mandatory Documentation & Verification

• Before vehicle hand-over, the renter must upload and present the original **Driving License** and **Aadhar Card** (or Passport).
• Our delivery agent will verify the physical documents at the time of doorstep or airport delivery. The name on all documents, booking profiles, and payments must match exactly.

3. Security Deposit & Payments

• A refundable security deposit is required for every rental vehicle. The exact amount depends on the car category (e.g., Hatchbacks, Sedans, or SUVs like Mahindra Thar and Scorpio-N).
• The deposit is refunded in full within 3 to 5 business days after the safe, undamaged return of the vehicle.
• All rental charges must be paid in full before delivery. Fuel charges, toll tickets, and traffic fines are paid separately.

4. Fuel & Cleanliness Policy

• Utkal Rides operates on a transparent **Level-to-Level** or **Full-to-Full** fuel policy. You are expected to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as provided at delivery.
• If the car is returned with less fuel, refuelling charges plus a processing surcharge will apply.
• A cleaning fee will be charged if the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition (inside or outside), or if smoking is detected inside the vehicle.

5. Traffic Violations & Off-Roading

• The renter is **100% legally and financially liable** for all traffic fines, speeding penalties, toll evasions, and parking violations incurred during the rental period.
• Our vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking. Off-roading, racing, towing, and commercial transport are strictly prohibited. The Mahindra Thar is to be driven only on legal, public roads.

6. Damage, Accident & 24/7 Breakdown

• In the event of an accident or mechanical failure, the renter must immediately contact Utkal Rides at **+91-7684831324** before taking any action.
• Renter liability for accidental damages is capped at the insurance deductible amount, provided the renter has complied with all terms (no driving under influence, valid DL, immediate reporting).
• Unauthorized repairs or towing by the renter are not eligible for reimbursement.
